A Parrot’s Story

When I opened the Parrot Bar and Grill in October 2010 I wanted to create a laid back atmosphere for locals and tourist alike. I could not compete with the five star eateries on 5th Ave and 3rd St, and I didn’t really want to. What I wanted was address the lack of options available for people who just wished to have a cold beer and a ½ lb juicy burger and still go home with some money left in their pockets. I wanted The Parrot to feel closer to Key West than Naples, with tourist in t-shirts and shorts sipping tropical drinks by the Marina, boaters just off their rides sharing time with the sandy and tanned just off the beach, bikers out for a ride and business people stopping in for their after work “vacations in a glass”. Tucked away, off the beaten path, a little worn and slightly weathered but clean and comfortable, The Parrot is open and inviting. I wanted it to be just like the place Toby Keith sings about.
Open 7 days a week, from 11am – 2am, The Parrot Bar is a family and pet-friendly business located on a marina near Tin City. We pride ourselves with a lunch menu that includes over 15 items under $8. Featuring: ½ pound burgers made fresh, never frozen, freshly made crab cakes, not pre-breaded or frozen, our chicken is grilled or blackened to perfection and when put on top of our Garden Salad makes for a hardy meal for the health conscious, our fish sandwich and platters taste as good as grouper but without the price. And don’t get me started on the wings. Our kitchen stays open nightly till 1:30am, so put that “Big smile on your face” and stop in.

Brewed in Tampa by Tampa Bay Brewing, Reef Donkey is a dry-hopped American Pale Ale made using a secret selection of hops to give this nice dry beer a lemon/lime aroma and citrus & slight tropical fruit flavor. Although this brew hits the classification of an APA, it drinks like a session IPA perfect for a day on the boat fishing the reef. Reef Donkey is slang for the Greater Amberjack gamefish which inhabit our coastal wrecks and reefs.

A simply brewed Citrus Ale that is just what the “doctor” ordered for a hot day in the sun. It is the perfect recipe of hops and natural citrus flavors that will get you back on your feet and into the nearest boat. The ideal complement for a long day of island running. Things to Do in Old Naples

Naples was founded during the late 1880s by former Confederate general and Kentucky U.S. Senator John Stuart Williams and his partner, Walter N. Haldeman, the publisher of the Louisville Courier-Journal. Throughout the 1870s and ’80s, magazine and newspaper stories telling of the area’s mild climate and abundant fish and game likened it to the sunny Italian peninsula. The name Naples caught on when promoters described the bay as “surpassing the bay in Naples, Italy”.
Today, Naples offers exquisite sunsets, incredible shopping, a variety of water sport activities, sightseeing tours and all mostly walking distances from the The Parrot Bar and Grill. Visitors can enjoy the area of the Fifth Avenue Shopping district, Cambier Park and Bandstand, Arthur Allen Tennis Center, or visit the famous Naples City Hall. Whatever your choice, Naples has something for everyone, below are our most popular must-see attractions.
So, take a ride, a swim, a stroll or a tour and don’t forget to stop by The Parrot and share your adventures in this incredible city.
Then you’ll know why it’s been crowned the jewel of Southwest Florida.
